From J.L.:- WE must sympathise with Councillor Jackson and colleagues struggling to reduce expenses for April's new charges.
It is reported that councillors allege that the Government owes them millions of pounds, not that their constituents owe them millions of pounds in rents and taxes.
Further, MerseyRail costs over £5.00 for every £1 collected in fares, so we pay some £25 million per year and, like tunnel fees, that will never reduce.
