From A happy car-washer and fast-food eater:-WHAT a pleasure it is to live in Upton in these modern times! Our town planners have really done the local population proud.

We now have, based on one roundabout served by four roads, three petrol stations, three car-washes, a fast-food outlet that seems to be open virtually 24 hours a day and a local superstore that seems totally hell-bent on destroying the tranquil neighbourhood, by offering 24 hour noise and congestion to the residents of this 'village'.

In the 'village' itself, there are now two chippies, two Indian take-aways, an Indian eat-in restaurant, a pizza take-away, a snack bar, an English restaurant - and by the way the good old superstore also sells meals. Not bad, 11 - yes 11 - food providers in a 200 yard area. Good old town planners!

Serving the needs for all the food that must obviously be consumed in great amounts is a grotty set of public 'inconveniences' right opposite two schools. Ideally situated for the tramps, alcoholics and druggies to use and mis-use.

Upton used to be a really nice place to live until the 'town planners' got their hands on it!

But what am I complaining about? I can wash the car three times in five minutes, eat till I drop and then, inbetween visiting the food outlets, join the local weirdos frequenting the designer loos of Upton Village - why even the Town Centre does not have so many amenities in such a small area. Thank God for the town planners!
