WIRRAL continues to pioneer plans for a new bus system called Jupiter to tempt town users from the car to public transport.
Last night's highways committee was looking at road orders in the Church Street area of Birkenhead to allow designated buses to pass through the closure by means of a 'bus gate'.
The report makes reference of the provision of bus stops on Hamilton Square and Europa Boulevard. The traffic regulation orders will be advertised.
The Jupiter project is a consortium led by Merseytravel with European funding while local authority costs, via the Hamilton Quarter, will also attract funding and possible private sector sponsorship.
Jupiter project is designed to address the need to promote less environmentally damaging forms of transport.
The same committee had an update on the use of speed humps speed restriction schemes in the borough.
