FAMOUS haulage firms in the North West feature in a new collection of die-cast scale model trucks, just released by Corgi. These highly detailed 1-50 scale lorries are produced in limited numbers, with a RRP of £16.99.
They include this Atkinson eight-wheel platform lorry in the livery of Aaron Henshall of Prescot. It was taken over in the early '70s by Holt Lane Transport. There is an Atkinson Articulated with flat trailer and canvas belonging to Suttons, of St. Helens, plus a Bedford dropside lorry loaded with oil drums.
Toys and Trains arrive at the National Railway Museum, York, from May 24 for an exhibition of toys right up to the modern age.
There will also be an Aladdin's Cave of memorabilia including toys belonging to the rich and famous.
