From M. F. Crocker:- I QUITE agree with your correspondent G. W. R. Hunt (Mailbox, March 5) about VAT which has been forced on us by the European Union. None of the three main parties will discuss it and there seems to be a conspiracy in the media to avoid it also.
During the Wirral South by-election, I understand that the BBC held a meeting for the three main parties only and deliberately excluded the other nine candidates who had paid the same deposit and had as much right to air their views and I am told that some of the nine excluded candidates demonstrated outside the hall - to no avail.
Come the election, I will be voting for the UK Independence Party candidate because it seems to be the only party with the courage to face up to the problem and will get us out of the E. U.
