CBISS - a hi-tech Wirral industry - is poised to double its workforce and turnover over the next 18 months, after winning exclusive UK rights to a Danish company.

Bromborough-based CBISS 'brought the bacon home' with a high profile contract to market Innova gas monitoring equipment. The order is worth half a million pounds to CBISS, which employed 11 people. Now it has recruited sales and marketing staff to spearhead its ambitious marketing drive.

Company founder Peter McQue said: "Process control environmental monitoring is of key importance to all major manufacturing industries the world over. Our team, composed mostly of local people, is well experienced in meeting the most exacting demands and is now well placed to corner an even greater share of the market place."

The company's newly appointed sales and marketing manager is chemistry graduate Dr Peter Binns, aged 33.

Twenty-four-year-old Sarah Parr, of Upton, joined the company just over a year ago, as a trainee administration clerk. She is promoted to the role of public relations co-ordinator.

CBISS was established in 1989.
