SEMINARS aimed at local companies are part of the Contact '97 Meet the Buyers event at Chester Race Course today (Wednesday, March 19). The seminars will give do's and don'ts tips on selling to large organisations.

The event is supported by Wirral Council, CEWTEC and Wirral Chamber of Trade. Wirral Council held a pre-cursor seminar, How to Sell to Larger Organisations, at Egerton House, last Wednesday.

Grant boost for local firms

LOCAL firms have won £75,000 in grants and created around 15 new jobs with help from Business Link Chester and Ellesmere Port.

Ellesmere Port firms Rosebery Group, CJS Custom and Walsh Plant and Transportation were awarded DTI grants under a programme to fund business expansion.

Plumb job for Terry

PLUMB Cente, the leading plumbing and heating merchants, have promoted Terry Lucas to be sales representative for the Wirral area, covering Birkenhead and Ellesmere Port. Tranmere-resident Mr Lucas was formerly assistant manager at Plumb Center's Birkenhead branch.
