WIRRAL Trades Union Council are holding a free music festival on Sunday, May 25, at Mersey Park in Tranmere.
Organisers say the purpose of the event is to give unemployed people from the Wirral a platform to develop their skills. The festival ties in with the Euro March for Jobs, and follows on from last year's anti-racist Respect festival.
Local bands interested in taking part should send demo tapes to Wirral TUC, Summerhill House, 22 Beechwood Drive, Birkenhead, L43 7ZU.
1990s rock 'n' roll band The Blame appear at the Albion Hotel, New Brighton, on Friday. Doors open at 7.30pm with the band on stage at 9pm.
