AN EASTHAM man alleged to have threatened to stab his wife was put on 12 months probation by Wirral Magistrates.
The court was told a reconcilliation between the parties had taken place. The defendant David Lewis Fleming was making an effort to overcome his drugs problem and had obtained employment.
Fleming, 38, of Thornley Avenue, Eastham admitted making a threat to kill his wife Tracy Fleming and also using or threatening unlawful violence.
Prosecutor Clare Ion said there had been disputes because Fleming sold household items to help his drugs problem. There was an argument and Fleming was told to leave and was aggressive and abusive. She managed to contact the police and Fleming on leaving the house said: "If they catch me I'll come back and stick a knife in you."
Later when arrested he admitted he had threatened to stab his wife but said he did not mean it. Philip Lieb, defending, said Fleming was thoroughly ashamed of his behaviour and deserved a chance to continue his good progress.
