MASKED robbers beat up a Cheshire postmaster's wife to force her husband to hand over thousands of pounds from the post office safe.
Police are alarmed by the amount of violence used during the crime at Elton. The car used by the thieves was a silver two-litre Ford Sierra, stolen five days earlier from Port Sunlight.
The Sierra was later found abandoned on farmland three miles away. A big reward is being offered for information leading to arrest and conviction.
