A GOOD time was had by all at last Friday's party celebrating the Wirral Globe's 24th birthday.

Miss Wirral Globe, air hostess Ann Marie Davies, presented motor dealer Ian Cubbin with a cuddly teddy following a prize draw at the Bowler Hat, Oxton.

Birkenhead Market and Town Centre manager Larry Embra and his wife had originally won the Teddy and despite having a youngster of their own, they generously auctioned it off in aid of Claire House children's hospice appeal.

Mr Cubbin, who was with Paul North, of Cubbin & North, then donated Teddy to St John's Hospice.

Birkenhead Ford Rapid Fit manager Tony Hackett won a colour television and also donated that to our guests from St John's Hospice.

Playing nursemaid to the Naylors is former Miss Wirral Globe Michelle Tait. Billy Naylor, of Pensby, arrived on sticks and wife Lyn with her left arm in a sling but nevertheless enjoyed their evening at the party. The three of them have become special friends after meeting through the Alison Naylor Fund, which provided a family room next to Intensive Care at Arrowe Park Hospital.
