A HAMMER was used by a Birkenhead woman to cause damage at the home of a friend, Wirral magistrates were told.
Ria Bernise McKeown believed the friend had been responsible for theft of a Giro sent to her while she was away.
McKeown, 28, of Caithness Gardens, Birkenhead, admitted causing damage to a door, lock and double-glazed window belonging to the local authority.
Mr Chris Murphy, defending, said McKeown had entrusted the friend Tracy Robinson with her key while she was away and believed she must have taken the Giro which was signed and cashed. But she now accepted she was totally wrong to behave in such a way.
McKeown had to pay £421 compensation. There was no other penalty.
