FOLLOWING the success of their 'Dreams '96' production, Action Transport Theatre has started planning for another major community production in July 1998 about the lives of people in Neston and Parkgate.

Practical workshops started at Neston Town Hall last week. Anyone with a story, memory or ancedote relating to Neston and Parkgate, or people who would like to get involved in acting, writing, researching, etc, should contact Action Transport Theatre on 357-2120.

AN Arts and Crafts Fair is being held at Victoria Hall in Higher Bebington, on Saturday, October 18, from 11am to 3pm. The event, in aid of the NSPCC, will include a wide range of stalls and refreshments. Admission is 20p.

CHOPIN is star of the show at Wallasey Arts Council's concert at Liscard's Grosvenor Ballroom on Friday from 7.30pm.

Andrew Wilde, who is quite a celeb at Manchester's Bridgewater Hall, will present a programme including Scherzo in B flat minor, Ballade in A flat, Mazurkas Op. 41 and Polonaise in A flat.

MUSIC honouring a former Wirral school master will form part of the programme in the opening concert of Hoylake Chamber Concert Society's new season.

One of Britain's foremost ensembles, the all-female Sorrel Quartet, will play John Pickard's Third String Quartet at the society's concert venue, St Andrew's United Reformed Church in Greenwood Road, Meols, at 7.30pm on Monday.

The Pickard Quartet was commissioned by brothers Godfrey and Paul Berry in memory of their father, John, who taught at Calday Grange Grammar school in West Kirby for nearly 25 years, retiring as senior physics master.
