SEVEN Stiles, leaders of the Birkenhead Saturday Soccer League sailed into the Regent Cup second round with a 7-1 demolition of The Coach.

Les Jones, Robbie Wilde, 2, John Dowling, Steve Thompson, 2, and Jamie Dogan netted the goals.

AC Brookley moved into the next round with an epic 5-3 victory over Hoylake Ford, with Robbie Eccles, Dave Connor, Norman Deacon, 2, and John Raven on target.

Tarin battled out a 16 goal thriller against Parkfield BA, Tarin winning 11-5, thanks to hat-tricks by Andy Jones and Brian Edwards and goals from Marti Lewis, 2, Richie Taylor and Kevin Almond. Danny Mooney, 2, Jeff Lloyd, Karl Williams and Gary White replied.

In form Old Bank smashed six past Delta, with Steve Smive, 2, Jason Smive, Anthony Smive, Andy Leyland and Steve Cook on target.

Eric Hardman scored the only goal in extra time for Overchurch in a battle against FC Cleveland.

Mike Williams, 2, and Peter McDonna scored for Parkfield BA in a 3-2 victory over Third Division Seven Stiles Youth, who did themselves proud.

Division Two leaders FC Beehive suffered their first defeat of the season but still remain top. They lost 4-3 to Unitor, for whom Steve Cott, 2, Gary O'Neil and Phil Berry were on target.
