SEACOMBE Ferry pub was the headquarters for Wirral Match Anglers' Open fished over high tide at Egremont Promenade.

Paul Bonner, who lives in Seacombe, notched up another win and his bag included the heaviest roundfish, an eel of 1-5-0, caught on peeler crab.

Two visiting Welsh anglers, Mike Flynn and Dewi Parry, qualified to fish what will probably be their home SAMF UK Masters Final next year, with Pwllheli the most likely venue.
