THE MAZDA 323 is the best selling Mazda in the United Kingdom. Demand for the five-door model has been exceptionally strong in 1997 with sales 50 per cent higher than in 1996.

Selected special editions have proven to be very popular providing discerning customers with stylish additions to the range. The latest special edition five-door 323 has been called the Imola in keeping with the dashing style of the car.

The 323 Imola is offered either in Mercury silver metallic or classic red with stylish 15" alloy wheels, boot spoiler and side sill treatment. This lends the car a purposeful and eye-catching look, which distinguishes it from the crowd.

The high level of specification includes power-assisted steering with engine speed sensing, driver and passenger airbag, front seatbelt pre-tensioners, high level rear brake light, engine immobiliser and ventilated front disc brakes.

The 323 Imola is powered by a responsive 1.5-litre 16-valve double overhead camshaft engine producing 90bhp. This gives a top speed of 109mph and a 0-62mph acceleration time of 11.9 seconds. The combined fuel consumption figure is a frugal 37.7mpg.

The 'on the road' price for the 323 Imola is £14,365 for the red car and £14,615 for the metallic silver car.
