ABIGAIL Lyons is this year's Merseyside Schools' Girls' Cross Country League champion at under-12 level.
The 12-year-old Weatherhead High School student completed a thoroughly convincing clean sweep by winning the last race in the series, staged at Fazakerley High School, Liverpool.
Abigail, a member of Liverpool Harriers, along with Wirral AC's Lindsey Doyle, winner of the under-14 title, shares the distinction of becoming the area's first individual series winner in the League since 1994.
