IT'S a first for Wirral - the rock show on radio you don't have to stay up all night to hear!
Rock Ahead is on Wirral's MFM station on 97.1FM every Sunday afternoon between 1pm and 4pm, with popular Wallasey DJ Jon Kirkman playing classic rock spanning the decades.
Wirral's own rock enthusiast, who was once a roadie with The Who, features rock giants such as Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Wishbone Ash, and Genesis, to name but a few.
"I just felt there was a need for a rock music programme on the radio, and to my knowledge this is the first for Wirral," enthused Jon.
In the coming weeks, you can hear celebrity interviews featuring legends like Iron Maiden, Page & Plant, former Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett, and Cockney Rebel - and not forgetting Jon's world-famous one liners!
Jon, who also presents the daily mid morning show, between 10am and 2pm, used to front the MFM Saturday sport show which then featured commentaries on Tranmere Rovers matches.
