A NEW charity shop with all proceeds going towards the Merseyside-based organisation Kids In Need and Distress (KIND) has opened at 261 Hoylake Road, Moreton, for 12 months.

DJ Jon Jessop, from Magic 1548, opened the shop and Beth Allen, aged 10, received a special gift from the shop - she had the distinction of being the first customer.

The shop will sell crafts and gifts for under £5 and offers a gift wrapping service. Good quality items will go towards a quarterly auction in the shop.

Parents are welcome to take children along, too, as there is a special play area.

The shop is also appealing both for volunteers and for good quality items to be donated.

Said Helen Britton, Wirral Co-ordinator for KIND: "We are looking for volunteers who could offer a few hours of their time to help out in the shop. And if anyone can offer any unwanted quality items, we would be very grateful."
