WIRRAL magistrates accepted a defence plea to be sympathetic towards a drink driver.
They fined Robin Williams, 39, of Nurse Road, Thingwall, £100 and banned him from driving for a year.
He pleaded guilty with a test showing over one-and-a-half times the permitted alcohol level.
David Kirwan, defending, said there was no bad driving. Williams was stopped in a routine early-morning check. He told the court there were difficult background circumstances and handed references to the magistrates.
