WIRRAL Investment Network presents its first environmental conference this Friday, May 15.

Called 'A Green Competitive Edge for Wirral', the conference aims to raise awareness of the issues and identify the help available in Wirral to turn potential threats into opportunities.

Supported by Business Link Wirral, the WIN event is held between 9.30am and 12.30 at IBMC, Conway Park, Birkenhead.

Said conference chair Lyndon Harrison MEP: "We should not forget that this conference provides an opportunity to play an important part in reducing any negative environmental impact that companies may be having on the local environment and communities around them."

Areas covered will include the role of the local authority, a government perspective and that of the Environment Agency. The presentations will be followed by case studies of Wirral businesses and information on how to find environmental business advice in the future.
