THE MAYOR and Mayoress of Ellesmere Port and Neston joined diners for a special charity night to mark the first anniversary of the Sonargaon Balti House, Neston.
Authentic dancers entertained a full house of regular customers at the restaurant in Bridge Street, where they were treated to a demonstration by the dancers who explained their movements in English.
Around £500 was raised for Families for Children UK, a charity that helps under-privileged and abandoned children from Bangladesh. The money raised on the night will help maintain the Sreepur children's village, where 500 abandoned children will be looked after.
Said owner Mr Ali: "Everyone had a splendid evening. The dancers were wonderful and everyone was most generous with donations to the charity."
