HERBERT GEORGE SHAUGHNESSY

MARY ROBERTS

From P. Shaughnessy:-I HAVE been trying to trace my father and my maternal Great Grandmother and am hoping one of your readers may be able to help. I can find no birth or death for either.

The only information on my father is that his age was given as 26 at his marriage in 1939 and his address as Newton Hall Cottage, Newton Hall Farm and his occupation as Cotton Mill Worker. My mother was Gladys Morris, a Coal Merchants Clerk at 41A Grange Road, West Kirby. They lived at 134 St Anne Street, Chester, when I was born in 1940. He was by then in the army.

I was brought up until 1950 by my great grandmother at Newton Hall Cottage, where her husband had been Head Cowman until he died of cancer and illness related to being gassed and shell shock from the first World War. At the time we lived at 121 Market Street, Hoylake, until 1952.

I would dearly like to find where she is buried as I never saw her after 1952. It would also be great if anyone could give me even the smallest bit of information that may tell me more about my father.

RAY JARVIS

From Mrs S.M. Carpenter:-I AM hoping to find some old friends of my husband, David.

Alma and Audrey Sharples, are sisters, their last known address was Hope Street, Birkenhead in 1954. They would be in their 60s now.

Ray Jarvis was best man at our wedding in 1970. We heard that he was living in Rock Ferry approximately 10 years ago. We would be very pleased to receive any information on his whereabouts.

I WOULD like to contact a person in the name of Madeline Hogson (maiden name). Her last known address was Love Lane, Wallasey in 1947. She had a brother called Kenny and a step brother called Gerry.

I would like to talk over old times. Anyone who knows the whereabouts of this family would be very much appreciated.
