ARTISTIC talent proved to be the key to success for youngster Caroline Shone after she scooped first prize in a painting competition.

The competition, run by James Edwards Peugeot, called for under-16s in the area to design a poster which would be used to decorate the walls of the newly refurbished dealership in Heswall.

Caroline, aged nine, from West Kirby, beat off more than 100 entries with her picture which incorporated the instantly recognisable lion from the Peugeot logo.

She was presented with a brand new Peugeot bike as her prize from James Edwards dealer principal John Morris, and said: "I was really excited when I found out that I had won. Art is one of my favourite lessons at school and I got the idea for my design after seeing the adverts for James Edwards in the Globe."

Added John Morris: "The standard of entries which we received was extremely high and it was very difficult to select just one winner. Caroline's picture will be displayed in the showroom of the dealership and its colourful design is sure to catch the attention of all our customers."
