HOYLAKE Sailing Club edged out Wallasey Yacht Club by a point in a team event in Seabirds on the Mersey at New Brighton. Clare Pickens took the Junior Wallasey race in Tern.
Barry Arnison, in the Darts, and Peter Briggs, in the Lasers, secured hat-tricks in Dee Sailing Club races.
At West Kirby SC, an eventful pursuit race in which there were capsizes, gear breakages and retirements, went to Martin Mayhew in the Falcon Phoenix.
Lake races were taken by Stuart Clark in the Fireflies, Jamie Smith in the Lasers and Junior Handicap, Julia Cornah in the Slow Handicap, Georgina Corlett in the Cadets and Neil Platt in the GPs.
Andy Bryson won a special race at Hoylake SC, while at Royal Mersey, Chris Board, twice, and Mike Colley won Mylne races. Mike Lynskey scored twice in the Squibs.
