PLANS for a day nursery in Gills Lane, Barnston, are expected to be refused by Wirral Council. The proposal is for a day nursery catering for 27 children, with six staff.

However, residents in Woodlands Drive, Gills Lane, and Dale View object on the grounds that it will devalue their properties.

They are concerned about the parking, road safety, and that an empty nursery building would attract gangs of youths.

Planners consider that noise and general disturbance would be detrimental to the amenities which nearby residents can reasonably expect to enjoy.
