REFURBISHMENT of Bebington Day Centre, Highcroft, is nearing completion, planning committee councillors have been told.

Now planning permission is sought for existing floodlighting after a local resident complained that the lights had been installed without planning permission.

The application is expected to be rubber-stamped but the resident in Heath Road, who complained, is not amused.

He wrote to the committee: "I live right next door to this centre. I strongly object to the lighting erected by social services without planning permission or consultation. The light poles are very high, ugly, and can be seen directly from my house. The light of an evening invades our natural privacy. They should be taken down."
