WIRRAL West MP Stephen Hesford has welcomed news from the National Lotteries Board that the bid he supported for Newton Village Hall has been successful and they are to scoop over £89,000.
"This is particularly welcome since the hall's first bid last year was turned down," says the MP.
"When I wrote to the Lottery Committee in July this year I emphasised how the community would gain from such an enhanced village hall, not least from the number of activities which will be able to take place, ranging from Scouting to whist drives, but also that these activities would encourage working in partnership, creating further opportunities for volunteering individuals.
"The news that the Lottery is supporting Newton Village Hall is encouraging as I press for more lottery money for Wirral West's many other projects."
