LORD-LIEUTENANT of Merseyside, Alan W. Waterworth, has presented an award on behalf of The Queen to a local man for his services to the West Kirby Citizens' Advice Bureau.
An MBE was presented to Mr Charles Noel Connor, who has served the CAB for 16 years in a number of ways, including as a member of the management committee.
Mr Connor has also been involved in a number of other charities and organisations: as trustee of West Kirby Charities, church steward at West Kirby Methodist Church, member of a local Abbeyfield Committee and Chairman of the Westbourne Community Centre.
Mr Connor, aged 79, is still actively involved in helping the local community. He is married to Eunice.
