WAR veterans, elderly people and families scattered for safety as a Metro car drove towards a Remembrance Day parade at the Rake in Bromborough. A police spokesman said fortunately no one was hurt. Now the Metro driver, from the New Chester Road area of Bromborough, faces four charges and is due to appear before magistrates at Birkenhead on December 14.
He is charged with failing to stop, failing to give a breath test, failing to give a sample, plus dangerous driving.
In view of the charges, we are not able to give further details except that the road was closed to traffic for the Bromborough Remembrance Parade on Sunday. Police want anyone with video or camera pictures of the incident to contact them.
