WORRIED MUM Karin Greaves, of Upton, this week makes a desperate appeal for a bone marrow donor for her married daughter Caroline, a 34-year-old mother of two young daughters under 10 years of age.

Caroline has a life-threatening disease, an illness that stops her body from producing healthy blood cells. Her only chance of life is for a bone marrow transplant. The Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust together with Karin is urgently looking for a donor.

Caroline's brother and sister have both been tested as donors but are not a suitable match. Karin is now desperate as Caroline's only hope is for an unrelated donor to be found.

A meeting for would-be donors, or Anthony Nolan Bone Trust supporters, will be held at 8 Church Road, Upton, on Thursday, November 19, at 8pm. Everyone is welcome.

Contact Christine Chatfield on 327-4421 if you can help. It is hoped that if there is enough support at the meeting, a clinic can be set up to give blood samples and a donor found.
