AMALGAMATION of Chester and Ellesmere Port Police divisions will give an improved service, says Cheshire Constabulary.
Although no specific date is given for amalgamation, a project team is working to identify a new site where divisional headquarters will be built.
In addition to the new head-quarters, each town centre will have its own police station. Final staffing for the new division is not known yet but is expected to be more than 450.
