Test Drive by Steve Hunter.

VILLAGE Motor Company are well renowned for the quality of used cars on offer at their Wallasey Village and Leasowe Road sites, and I just couldn't resist Sales Manager Patrick Hardman's request for me to take a Rover 820 Si for a test drive.

P-registration (1996), set in British racing green metallic, this four-door executive saloon is available for £7,995, and represents good value, as a new model costs just under £22,000.

One owner with full service history, this Rover has 30,000 miles on-the-clock, and to drive is pure luxury. The 2-litre engine has a top speed of 125 mph, accelerating from 0-60mph in 9.2 seconds.

Features include alloys, air conditioning, tinted windscreen, five-speed manual gearbox, electric sunroof, electric windows and mirrors, twin SRS airbags, stereo radio/cassette, with channel and volume controls at the height adjustable steering wheel, armrest.

Interior is luxury, with velour trim, headrests in the front and rear. The Rover 820 Si has superb acceleration and I must admit a personal favourite.

Since the opening of Village Motor Company's service and MOT centre in Cross Lane, Wallasey, there is more space to stock cars at the Wallasey Village and Leasowe Road sites.

Village Motor Company is a success based on trust. If you fancy buying the Rover 820 Si contact Patrick Hardman at Wallasey Village site, on 639-8810.
