Carlsberg West Cheshire League round-up with Ray Condliffe.

CARLSBERG West Cheshire League Division Two side Heswall Reserves were celebrating, on Easter Monday, after winning the Wirral Amateur Cup with a 2-1 victory over Stork Reserves.

In the Pyke Cup semi-final, Cammell Laird beat Heswall in a 4-3 thriller, thanks to a dramatic injury time winner by Lairds defender Colin Littlejohn. Jimmy Blackhurst had given Lairds the lead before an own goal levelled for Heswall.

Further efforts by Mark Jones and Steve O'Brien looked to have won it for Lairds before late strikes by Dave Mayes and Chris Durkin levelled it up, then up popped Littlejohn.

In the other semi, Ashville (John White) drew 1-1 with Stork (Paul Wiggins). The replay is on Monday at Poulton Vics FC (7pm).
