WELL LANE Primary School, Birkenhead, celebrated its centenary by dressing up in period costume and decorating the school hall with memorabilia from yesteryear.
The school was 100 years old on March 6 - although the current building is new.
A time capsule, including a copy of the Wirral Globe, was buried in the school grounds but the exact location remains a secret.
The children held a special drama and music performance to celebrate and on Friday - as our picture shows - the whole school dressed up in clothes worn 100 years ago.
Twins Catherine and Heather Rigby, seven, with four-year-old Scott Lewis and a copy of the Globe for their time capsule.
Converted for the new archive on 13 March 2001. Some images and formatting may have been lost in the conversion.
