TULIP International meat factory is moving from New Brighton to a purpose-built factory on the Wirral International Business Park this Spring after the council helped with funding to keep the firm in the area.
When Tulip closes the existing packed meats factory, near New Brighton Station, it will be re-opened as a packed meats factory by business entrepreneur Gerry White. He has a new management team headed by Jeb White, Garry White, Paul Harris, Vin Thomas and Charlie Stam.
Silver-haired Mr White, former chair of Wirral Chamber of Trade and Commerce, founded Hurstwoods Foods based at Priory Industrial Estate. The firm specialises in cooked meats and biscuits.
Mr White, always quick to spot an opportunity, is understood to be poised to take over the Tulip factory at New Brighton to further expand his company empire. He is not saying much, only to confirm that his executive team is interested in the Tulip premises.
When Tulip announced that it was quitting New Brighton more than a year ago, the first person to view the factory was Gerry White.
