WIRRAL environmental health councillors meet tonight (Wednesday) to discuss cleanliness standards in the borough, in particular the contracts for refuse collection and street collection. It is an 'exempt' item, press and public may not attend. However, we can report that councillors will be told that Wallasey is the worst place for dog muck and graffiti, followed by Birkenhead.

MAYOR Margaret Green with her consort husband are off to the House of Lords today (Wednesday) for lunch to mark the 25th anniversary of Merseyside Council for Voluntary Service. On Sunday they celebrate Bangladesh Independence Day at a party in Wirral's Multicultural Centre, Conway Park.

GOLFERS are wanted to take part in a four ball competition to help children get to Lourdes. Cost is £20 a player with dinner and the prize a holiday for four in a villa on the Costa Del Sol.
