HOLY Trinity School in Hoylake is holding a sponsored run and walk to raise funds to improve their playground facilities.

The school committee report the current yard is in poor condition, and contains no playground equipment, and the recent Ofsted report suggests an improvement is needed. The stumbling block is the £10,000 cost. Their target is to raise the money by Easter Sunday, 2000.

The proposed playground will feature a safe and stimulating play environment, renewed fencing and tarmac designed by pupils from the school.

The first event in the fund-raising campaign is the Three Lighthouses sponsored walk on Saturday, June 26, starting at Perch Rock, New Brighton, passing Leasowe Lighthouse before heading past the old Hoylake Lighthouse and finishing at Holy Trinity School.

Anyone interested in providing sponsorship should contact the school for further details and sponsorship forms. Telephone 632-5070.
