COMMITTAL proceedings in Heswall 'Beauty in the Bath' murder case were put off at the defence request by Wirral magistrates yesterday.

Stuart Nolan appearing for 49-year-old glazing company boss John Edwin Taft requested evidence to be called and the matter was delayed until June 18 for a date to be arranged and for the prosecution to make an application to extend custody time limits.

Taft, of Borough Road, Prenton, was remanded in custody to June 18. There was no application for bail.

It is alleged he murdered 50-year-old beautician Cynthia Rosemary Bolshaw at her luxury home in Buffs Lane, Heswall in October 1983.
