VAUXHALL'S sister company Opel presented a design study of a new concept leisure vehicle at Geneva Motor Show, and the highly versatile prototype micro car, Concept A, features a particularly environmentally compatible, dual-fuel drive.

Concept A has five-doors and converts easily from a four-seater to a spacious load lugger. It is powered by a dual-fuel engine with extremely low emission levels. At the touch of a button, the driver can choose compressed natural gas (CNG) or petrol power.

The 1.2-litre, 12 valve engine from the Corsa is turbocharged to boost performance with both fuels, accelerating 0-60 mph in 11.0 seconds with natural gas (11.5 seconds with petrol), and if either fuel tank is close to empty, the car automatically switches to the other system.
