CRISP racing in a keen westerly wind on Sunday made up for the disappointment of Saturday in Hoylake Sailing Club's two day Regatta.

Crews on the opening day had to contend with rain and a fickle breeze.

Opera races were won by Peter Stott and Mike Jones but Huw Chapman in La Boheme lifted the Regatta Challenge Cup overall.

In the Falcons John Burthem sailed Hawkwind to two wins to secure the Grenfall Memorial Trophy in emphatic style.

Star successes were gained by Ian Eccles and John Laing whilst Dart victories were achieved by Ian Bain and Jim Douglas. Mark Harrier claimed the one Seabird event in Golden Eye.

In the handicap dinghies Andy Bryson dominated with four wins in his Laser.

Liverpool Yacht Club races were won by Neil Thomas, Dave Unthank and Stan Edge.

Royal Mersey Invitation races went to Matt Wardle from Liverpool in the Squibs and Andy Stratton from Hoylake in the Mylnes.

Jeremy Tetley and Peter Ball won Squib series races with Mylnes victories going to Mike Colley and Paul Flower.

Brother and sister Andrew Cornah and Julia Cornah took the top two places in the West Kirby Cadet Open Meeting.

Marine Lake wins during the week were gained by David Cheshire, Stuart Clark, Rob Graham and Andrew and Julia Cornah.

At Dee Barry Arnison won three times in their Darts. Malcolm Blair took the Offshore race and other class wins went to S. Roberts, M. Hilton, I. McLean, A. Davidson and E. Potter.
