WIRRAL players dominated the latest squad picked for the North-West Under-15 representative hockey team.
Of the 16 boys selected from the whole of the North West 11 were from Wirral and all of those were from just two schools - Birkenhead and Caldy Grange. The team played in the National Divisional Tournament at the West of England ground in Bristol and came an unlucky sixth out of seven. Three of the boys, Mark Little, Alex George and Jeremy Purdell-Lewis, have now been selected to attend the North West Academy coaching session. Another player, Tom Bullock, has been picked by Wales to play in their Under 16 team.
Pictured above are the 11 (from left to right) top row: Matt Earlam (Caldy), Adam Harris (Birkenhead), Mark Little (Caldy), Tom Bullock (Birkenhead), Jeremy Purdell-Lewis (Captain-Birkenhead) and Jonathan Lorains (Birkenhead). Front row: Martin Sowden (Birkenhead), Chris Williams (Birkenhead), James Cullen (Caldy), Alex George (Caldy) and Greg Sinnott (Caldy).
