THIS week's £2,000 jackpot win on the St John's Hospice in Wirral Weekly Lottery couldn't have been more perfectly timed for Rachel Green of Heswall . . .

For Rachel is expecting her first child on July 11 and, together with husband Michael, has just moved house to Heswall.

"It certainly is perfect, absolutely wonderful timing!" enthused a delighted Rachel. "I was so shocked when the Hospice Lottery office telephoned me to tell me the good news and it was a good job I was able to sit down quickly. With a baby on the way and after moving house, funds were a bit down.

"The funny thing is that the other day I was speaking to my reflexologist, who is a previous Hospice Lottery jackpot winner! This is such a good cause."

Rachel plans to spend the cash on the new arrival to the family. "Then, if there's anything left, we might treat ourselves to something."

Each week throughout the year, the St John's Hospice lottery computer selects at random the 54 numbers which share the £3,000 weekly prize money: a top prize of £2,000, second prize of £500, third prize of £100, fourth prize of £50, 20 £10 winners and 30 £5 winners.

Following the recent draw in St John's Hospice charity shops, winner of the one year's free Hospice lottery membership is Mrs E Robertson.

The shops are always on the look-out for volunteers to help out. Please contact Jean Gould/Chris Clougher on 334-2778.
