WIRRAL taxpayers have just days left to pay their self assessment tax bills. Today (July 28) is the final date for bills to be paid at any post office in order to beat the July 31 deadline set by the Inland Revenue. More than two million statements of account explaining how much is due by July 31 have been sent out by the taxman. Interest accumulates on unpaid tax after this date. A spokesman for Post Office Counters said: "The service at post offices is free of charge for full payment by cash or cheque."
