BATTLE plans are being prepared to drum up support for a £500,000 campaign to save one of Bebington's most historic buildings for future generations.
Mayer Hall, which sits almost opposite Bebington Civic Centre in The Village, already has the support of local MP Ben Chapman, who has called for the people of Bebington to rally round and support the cause.
Now, the newly formed Friends of Mayer Hall are looking forward to announcing a range of fund-raising activities - and a recruitment drive. Chairman of the Friends, professional photographer Colin Bermingham, said: "We hope very shortly to be in a position to give details of both - I am confident that the people of Bebington will give their support."
A special fund - the "Save Mayer Hall Account" - has been opened at NatWest Bank for donations from the public. The Account No is: 13461486. Sort Code: 01-07-02.
