HEALTH and Safety officers are investigating an accident in which a Liverpool man trapped both hands in a factory press.
Tool-fitter Frank Comber, 50, from West Derby, trapped his hands in a power press at AC Giles, Seacombe. Shocked workmates freed him and tried to save his hands until paramedics arrived. It is understood both hands had to be amputated by surgeons at Whiston Hospital.
