GREEN-FINGERED Beverley Connelly, of Cathcart Street, Birkenhead, is champion gardener in this year's annual garden competition sponsored by Cosmopolitan Housing Association for its Wirral residents.
Beverley, who with husband Gerald and children Thomas and Ashley moved in to their new three-bedroom semi three years ago, has created a long lawn and colourful borders with a Wendy house for the children. "I love the garden," says Beverley. "I love sitting out in it and there's plenty of space for the children to play."
In the last three years the association has built nearly 100 homes for rent to local people. This year it plans to develop a further 18, for older people, people with disabilities and for families.
