AMONG high-achieving girls at Wirral Grammar School are eight whose GCSE grades include eight or more at the top A* grade. They are Claire McCann, Christine Campbell, Christina Eddowes, Charlotte Bailey, Maxine Emmett, Dianne Faragher, Alicia Huntriss and Jennifer Wood.
The school's 154 candidates were entered for over 1,500 examinations, and nearly 95 per cent of them emerged with five or more passes at A* to C grades. Fifteen girls had entirely A* and A grades.
