THE new 'road-hog' road safety campaign had its Merseyside launch at Woodchurch Road School, Birkenhead.
Wirral Council Road Safety Officer Stephen Whitehouse showed pupils a video of the new TV commercial with cartoon hedgehogs showing children how to cross the road safely.
This third outing for the road-hogs, commissioned by the Department of Transport, shows children how to use pedestrian crossings. The commercial, entitled Green Man, part of the current £500,000 Child Road Safety drive, runs until September 27.
Also at the launch were some real hedgehogs courtesy of Sue Lewis of the North West Hedgehog Rescue.
