WIRRAL Council is launching after-school sports clubs to encourage kids to get some exercise.

Launched by the Sports Development Team to coincide with the start of the new term, clubs will be held at Guinea Gap Baths, Wallasey, Wirral Tennis & Sports Centre, Bidston, Grange Road West Sports Centre, Beechwood Recreation Centre and Leasowe Recreation Centre. Boys and girls aged eight to 15 can try a variety of sports, membership is free and all kids have to pay is £1.10 a session, or 50p at Beechwood.

The long-awaited girls' soccer schools for seven to 12-year-olds are starting at Leasowe, Wirral Tennis Centre, Beechwood and Grange Road West.
